As a little girl from a single parent home on the northside of Chicago, Kymika “The Wealth Gap Closer” Okechukwu grew up enjoying attending open houses with her mother to admire architecture, furnishings, and decor. Kymika often acknowledges that “while we didn’t have much growing up, my mother instilled in me the value of entrepreneurship and homeownership at a young age.” Kymika purchased her first property in her 20s in 2007, but thought selling at a loss via short sale during the crash was her only way out at the time. In 2009, she and her husband persisted and purchased a foreclosure which they continued to improve over the years until they leased it to tenants and purchased another property.

Kymika’s brush with death during a major car accident in 2017 prompted her to reassess priorities and it became crystal clear that she wanted to pursue real estate as a viable option toward financial freedom. Kymika obtained her broker’s license in Illinois in 2017.

Kymika’s passion for freedom, growth, and the reliability of passive income, led her to form KO Realty Investments, LLC to help over 1 million women close the wealth gap through real estate investments.
